Toys for Tots Halloween Motorcycle Ride

Usually I am the only one riding shotgun behind MoonPie, but yesterday I had company.

We were participating in a Toys for Tots Halloween Ride to benefit the USMC Toys for Tots Foundation. It was so nice to have this before the Holiday madness begins and the temperature turns cold. We had fantastic weather, fun people, and a really great time. So what does this have to do with us having a crazy week?

Following the ride everyone who participated was invited back to our house for a cookout. Last Sunday MoonPie starting cooking stuff for the party, but then we would eat most of it before it would cool enough to go into the freezer. We kept this up all week. Buy food. Cook food. Eat almost all of the food. Repeat. I think he made chili every night. I wonder if the people at Publix think we’re hoarding crushed tomatoes.

My job was basically to make sure we had things like plates, eating utensils, napkins, and clean toilets. At the last minute I decided that I would like to make something to contribute to the party mood. Big thanks to my Facebook friends who responded to my plea for Jello shot recipes. I thought I had made way too many, but I was wrong. It seems that some people like Jello as their appetizer, entree, and dessert. Who knew?
